A Cyclist's Map to FAC

FAC can be a difficult building to find on the University of Florida campus. As many who would visit the Fine Arts area are cyclists, I created a wayfinding system for bike-riders. This system includes a fold-out guide to the area, and a directional spoke card.

Guh

Fleece 3D type, booklet

Everyone experiences those moments of negativity where it just seems hard to stay upbeat; we just want to throw up our hands and say, “guh.” This fleece type specimen is literally a way to embrace one’s bad mood in a way that is friendly, comfortable, and humorous.

Project also includes a booklet with "wholesale" information.

The longer the "guh" hung around my studio, the more other people hugged it when tired, cranky, or frustrated.

Pieces of the Prairie

Poster, 18x24"

What struck me most about Paynes Prairie was its immense and multi-faceted nature. For this poster, I collaged by hand various collected materials with my own photography (as well as hand-drawn lettering of the prairie's flora and fauna). I then photographed the composition and digitally added the copy.

All the lettering is made of my own drawings of flora and fauna found on the prairie.

Editorial Illustration

This illustration was a class project in which we were asked to create a portrait for a classmate, employing a single personality descriptor. The subject of my illustration is a Leslie, whom her peers deemed "to the point."

The Fine Print

The Fine Print is a non-profit progressive newspaper for which I served as an editorial designer. The image at right is a back cover harking of extensions to our website; I used diagonals to evoke the immediacy that is online journalism.
